About Star Pupil Tutoring

A calm, confidence-building approach to Key Stage 2 learning

Star Pupil Tutoring is run by Madeleine, a retired Key Stage 2 teacher with 28 years’ classroom experience (mainly Year 6). Sessions are personalised, supportive, and focused on helping children feel capable—especially when SATs and school expectations start to feel overwhelming.

Madeleine’s background

A teacher first—now tutoring one to one

Madeleine holds a BEd (Hons) from North London University (1993) and taught in North London for nearly three decades, including as a former teacher at Prince of Wales Primary School, Enfield (retired Dec 2021).

Tutoring is designed to feel reassuring and structured: clear explanations, step-by-step practice, and plenty of encouragement—so pupils can make steady progress without pressure.

How sessions work

Personalised support for Years 4–6

Every child is different. Sessions start by identifying what your child finds tricky, then building confidence through targeted practice in English and Maths. For Year 6 pupils, tutoring can focus on SATs preparation—including exam technique, timing, and the key areas that make the biggest difference.
